Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of air raids in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and officials were bracing for more assaults.
